Street cleaner hit by car wins damages
A man employed by a county council as a street cleanser has been awarded more than £71,485 after sustaining serious leg injuries
when his works vehicle was hit by a drunk driver driving the wrong way on a road. He broke his right leg from the ankle to
the hip. He underwent an initial operation to insert pins into the leg to secure the break and then underwent a further four
surgical procedures. He faces the prospect of a further two to three operations on his leg. Following surgery he had to use
a wheelchair and crutches to get around for several months and experiences constant pain in his leg.
