Compensation for fall at work
A woman working as a retail operative has been awarded £15,000 for injuries she sustained in a fall at work. The woman was
walking down a designated walkway when she slipped on turkey steak that had fallen off the production line. Her feet went
from under her and she fell to the floor causing injury to her lower back and right knee. Her employer did not admit liability
for the accident and alleged the claimant slipped because the wellington boots she was wearing were worn and she should have
requested new boots.
