Shoulder injury damages
A man who worked as a storekeeper an NHS Trust has been awarded £38,520 for an injury he sustained to his shoulder when he
was clearing out the storeroom ready for a refit. The man was asked to empty shelves in the stores, and as he lifted a box
of A4 paper he lost his balance as the box fell and he tried to avoid falling into the cage being used to transfer the boxes
of paper. As he fell his shoulder struck the corner of the shelving units and he twisted his back. He sustained a tear to
the rotator cuff of his shoulder as a result of the fall. The man was forced to retire early as a result of the injury.
