Slip outside supermarket
A cash machine maintenance worker has received £10,500 in compensation after slipping outside a supermarket. A sewer drain
had overflowed coating the pavement in slime causing the worker to fall. He suffered soft tissue injuries to his hip, spine
and knee. He also tore the cartilage in his knee. The man had to take four months off work following the incident. Although
staff at the supermarket were aware of the hazard, no warning signs had been put up. The supermarket admitted liability and
settled the claim out of court.
