£74,000 damages for mesothelioma death

The family of a man who died from mesothelioma has received more than £74,000 in compensation. He had worked as a labourer and was exposed to asbestos during periods in the 1960s when he worked inside railway carriages. His work involved putting asbestos into a machine from which it was then sprayed onto the carriage ceiling. Some of it fell back down onto the workers and asbestos dust filled the air. He worked in this environment without protective clothing or breathing equipment for around two years.
