£27,500 in compensation for crushed hand

A man who sustained a serious crush injury to his hand in an accident at work has received £27,500 in compensation in an out of court settlement. He was employed as a finishing manager for a textile company. He was feeding material into a machine when his hand was pulled into the machine and as a consequence his hand was crushed between the machine’s rollers. He sustained severe tissue damage to his hand and also required surgery to repair muscle damage. An early admission of liability was made.
