Crush injury to the tip of finger

A man has received £8,000 in an out of court settlement after an accident at work whilst operating machinery resulted in a severe crush injury to his finger. However, the isolation mechanism failed and his finger was caught inside the machinery. He sustained a severe crush injury to the tip of his right middle finger resulting in skin loss over the tip of the finger, requiring a full thickness skin graft and further surgery.
