£9,500 for hearing loss and tinnitus

A former steel worker who suffers with hearing loss and tinnitus which was caused as a result of his exposure to excessive noise at work has settled his claim for £9,500 against two former employers together with payment of his legal costs. His employers finally provided him with hearing protection around 2000, but he had already been working in the noise for more than 35 years and the damage caused was irreversible.
