Chubb Europe redomiciles to the UK

Chubb Insurance Europe is now registered in the UK as Chubb Insurance Company of Europe SE (CICE SE) and is regulated and authorised by the UK’s Financial Services Authority (FSA). Chubb Corporation first launched its business in Europe in 1962 in Belgium under the regulation of the Belgian authorities. Chris Giles, chief executive of Chubb Insurance Company of Europe, said the UK underwriting and claims operation of Chubb Europe had always been based in the UK, but over the years more European-wide support functions had moved to the UK along with many of the European wide management team. Following discussions with the Belgian authorities, Chubb decided to move its legal and regulatory home from Belgium to the UK from January 1, 2009. He said there would be no changes to the company’s structure or policy conditions.
