Financial crisis undermines confidence in FSA

Regulated firms are less convinced of the FSA’s ability to maintain confidence in financial markets after a turbulent year for financial services and supervision

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) is never short of criticism, constructive or otherwise. But regulated firms are, understandably, often reluctant to publicly comment about the regulator and several studies over the past few years have attempted to quantify how firms perceive the work of their regulator. In this context, the Financial Services Practitioners Panel’s (FSPP) biannual survey of firms provides a unique insight into how the regulator measures up for the firms it regulates.
