Green Paper suggest opt-out collective redress mechanism may be suitable for European consumers

On 28 November 2008, the European Commission’s Directorate General on Health and Consumer Protection (DG SANCO) published its “Green Paper on Consumer Collective Redress”, an important next step in the EU’s march towards possibly introducing an EU-wide form of collective action for the redress of consumer grievances.
