Hardening market in airline sector

The long threatened harder market in the airline sector is now more in evidence, though not, perhaps, to the level expected, according to Aon. The broker said that the industry appears to be divided into three segments. For the largest carriers, if an underwriter takes a tough stance to a renewal, the relatively high level of capacity means that the business can be placed elsewhere. This threat is keeping lead premium increases relatively low.
