Burns at work sees damages
A man working at a printing company has been awarded £15,550 when he sustained burns as he carried out maintenance tasks on
the ink tanks at the printing works. He was injured as he cleaned two filters in a black ink tank. He subsequently discovered
that a cable running to a motor had been damaged and the live exposed cable had arced against the metal filter lid. This resulted
in the black ink and toulene solvent in the filter exploding, causing him to suffer burn injuries.
