Airline toilet injuries compensated

A holidaymaker has received £6,500 in compensation from an airline after she was injured in a toilet cubicle. She received 14 stitches in the back of her head after a metal cabinet fell off the wall. She needed internal and external stitching and also suffered injuries to her back, neck, thigh and coccyx. The airline offered to settle the claim for £2,000, but after negotiations with her trade union representatives, it was increased to £6,500. The airline denied liability.
