Crushed hand damages
A man who worked as a machine operator has been awarded £76,500 after his hand was crushed in a roller press. He subsequently
developed depression and anxiety disorder as a result of the prolonged pain he experienced after sustaining the injuries.
After the accident, he was taken to hospital for treatment where parts of his middle and ring fingers were amputated and damage
to the tendon of his index finger was treated. He was left permanently unfit for even minimal manual work and was deemed to
be at a severe disadvantage on the open labour market.
