£262,000 damages for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
A council road worker who developed Hand-Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome has been awarded £262,000
in compensation after being forced to leave his job. He used a variety of vibrating tools including wacker plates, saws and
breaker packs. He also worked long hours because of the bonus scheme operated by the council at the time. He now finds it
difficult to work outside and his condition is much worse in the winter. He was forced to leave his job because of the injury.
