Pleural thickening and pleural plaques award

A maintenance electrician has been awarded £20,000 after he developed pleural thickening and pleural plaques as a result of exposure to asbestos. His duties as a maintenance electrician took him to various sections of the car manufacturing plant where he often had to gain access to the ceiling voids to work between the false ceilings and the asbestos insulation. In order to gain access he had to climb over asbestos covered pipework that had broken away in many areas.
