Liability Risk and Insurance
Airline insurance market indicators report
The airline insurance market appears to have begun to harden, according to Aon’s “Airline insurance market indicators – a
darker outlook autumn 2008.” In the report, Doug Peterson, Aon Aviation & Aerospace Practice Leader, said: “Well, it looks
like the market has started to turn. After five years of soft markets, the indicators from the first seven months of 2008
suggest that it is going to be increasingly difficult to get lead hull and liability reductions over the next few months,
although a great deal will depend on the November and December renewals. There are reductions out there, but they tend to
be given for specific reasons such as fleet reductions rather than across the board like we saw last year.”
