Regulators and governments around the world are facing up to the consequences of the current market turmoil. While the focus for now is to stabilise financial institutions and markets, regulation is already facing questions about its role in the failure of some of the largest names in the insurance and banking industries. A change in regulatory focus further down the line is inevitable.
