Bolivia returns to drawing board over pension plans

Latin American and Central American countries are posting a mixed bag of results for the first half of this year

Premiums in Bolivia reached US$89mn in the first half of 2008, of which 27% was recorded by the life insurance sector. Claims totalled US$45mn and net earnings amounted to US$11mn, helped by the good performance of investment revenue.
