Dutch reforms drive up Europe’s health insurance spend in 2006

Health insurance premiums collected by European insurers rose by 39% in 2006, but only 3.6% excluding the Netherlands

Healthcare expenditure in Europe totalled €961bn ($1,441bn) in 2006, according to the European insurers’ association CEA. This was a 2.6% increase in real terms from 2005 levels.
