Scotland bans under-18s from using sunbeds
The Scottish Parliament has brought in new laws which ban the use of sunbeds by under-18s. The laws are part of the recently
passed Public Health etc (Scotland) Bill. The “Regulation of Provision of Sunbeds” lists a number of offences, including prohibition
on allowing use of sunbeds by persons under-18, prohibition on sale or hire of sunbeds to persons under-18, and prohibition
on allowing unsupervised use of sunbeds. The law also includes a duty to provide information to sunbed users, and a duty to
display information notice. The penalty is a £100 fine.
