£90,000 award for stair fall

A woman has received £90,000 compensation after falling down a flight of stairs at her office. She tripped on one of the non-slip strips which had become dislodged. She suffered a serious fracture to her right elbow, which deteriorated and resulted in an operation to replace the joint. Despite the surgery, she was left with permanent problems with her elbow. The accident happened because her employers had failed to secure and properly maintain the non-slip tread on the stairs.
