Award for slip and trip

A woman has received £15,000 compensation after suffering painful injuries in a fall in a public place. She sustained a fractured ankle as a result of an accident that occurred in the grounds of a church. She was descending a flight of stairs which, despite a drop to one side, had no hand rail. She caught the edge of a step and fell awkwardly attempting to avoid falling down the unprotected drop.
