▪ Brokers and insurers in Bermuda have agreed to a new contract certainty code of practice ahead of the July 1 renewal season. Two trade bodies: the Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers (ABIR) and the Bermuda Insurance and Reinsurance Brokers Association (BIRBA) adopted a code of practice that they say will bind their members to specific contract completion practices. Members’ compliance with the code’s principles will be tested from the start of the July 1 renewal season to the end of 2008. The associations said they intend to monitor their members for compliance and measure firms’ performance against the market.
