MPs grill new FSA chairman
The incoming chairman of the Financial Services Authority, Lord Turner of Ecchinswell has made his first appearance before
the Treasury Select Committee. Lord Turner will take up the post in September following the departure of Sir Callum McCarthy
but the Select Committee, well-known for grilling the FSA’s previous chairmen and chief executives, acted on the government’s
proposals last year for select committee scrutiny of certain public appointments, in particular those in market sensitive
posts, and called Lord Turner to appear before the panel.
