Finance companies postpone interest payments to avoid collapse

More than half of the 44 companies operating two years ago have either failed, or are trying to fight off receivership

With new and re-investment deposits drying up as nervous investors move their money into banks, the woes of New Zealand finance companies continue. Several smaller companies have joined some major operators in suspending both interest and capital repayments as they fall due.
