Generali acquires two Romanian insurers

The Italian insurer has identified Romania as a strategic market for growth in Central and Eastern Europe

Generali is to buy Romanian insurers Ardaf and RAI. Its Generali PPF Holding has signed agreements with the international private equity group PPF Investments to buy 72.7% of SC Asigurare si Reasigurare Ardaf and 99% of Roumanie Assurance International. The deal is subject to regulatory approval.
