IMG teams with UAE firm

International Medical Group (IMG), the US healthcare benefits administration and distribution group, has entered into a joint venture agreement with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) based Al Wathba National Insurance Company (AWNIC) to launch a new healthcare plan in the UAE. Joseph Brougher, president of IMG, said the idea behind the plan, MediGlobal Health Insurance, was to deliver effective local and international coverage within one plan for the UAE market. IMG’s review of the UAE health insurance sector showed that the market was lacking a product that could effectively combine local underwriting and service with international coverage and emergency services.
