Benfield opens Puerto Rico office

Broker Benfield has opened an office in Puerto Rico, which it says makes it the first reinsurance intermediary to open an office on the island. Benfield said the office, Benfield Puerto Rico, in San Juan, will be the focus for expansion on the island, where it has been active for over 30 years. Andres Piccinoni has been appointed as the chief executive officer of Benfield Puerto Rico. Dominic Christian, chief executive officer of Benfield’s International Division, said: “We look forward to embarking upon a further, more detailed chapter in the Benfield success story in Puerto Rico.”
