CHINESE INTERMEDIARIES Q1 PROFITS HIT YUAN27.1M

China's insurance intermediaries achieved profits of Yuan27.1m in the first quarter of this year, figures from the China Insurance Regulatory Commission reveal. Operating revenue was up 55.7% year-on-year at Yuan1.4bn. The CIRC figures said commission revenue grew 63.6% to Yuan648m, including Yuan452m property insurance commission revenue and Yuan196m life insurance commission revenue. For insurance brokers specifically, property insurance commission revenue increased 41.9% to Yuan396m, while life insurance commission revenue jumped 63.57% to Yuan44m. Meanwhile reinsurance and consultancy commission revenue was down 11.6% at Yuan62m.
