Hand injury compensated

A man has received £6,000 compensation after suffering a hand injury at work. He was using a milling machine to profile and shape metal when a spring failed causing the handle to swing round and strike him on the hand. He visited his GP after a lump developed on his finger which was getting worse and causing him pain. He was referred to hospital where he underwent an operation and the lump was found to be a swollen nerve.
