Noise induced hearing loss award
A man has received £7,500 in compensation for noise induced hearing loss in an out of court settlement. He was employed as
an inspector and as a leading hand. His job as a leading hand was to make conveyor belts for coal mines and airports. He was
never provided with any form of hearing protection and so was exposed to excessive levels of noise for the whole of his shift.
When employed as an inspector, he was still exposed to noise as he would walk around the factory.
