Family receives £149,000

The family of a man who died from an asbestos-related disease has received £149,000 in compensation. The man died after being diagnosed with mesothelioma. His condition was critical when first diagnosed. He was told that he had only six months left to live. He worked for a painting firm, preparing and painting boilers in schools’ boiler rooms. He was exposed to asbestos dust when he was sent to fix pipework off-site.
