Zurich Financial Services has opened a Singapore branch to service the group’s corporate and commercial customers in the region. These services will include energy insurance as well as trade credit and political risk. The Singapore branch office replaces the representative office the group established at the beginning of 2007 and which served as the main liaison office for Zurich’s Global Energy insurance unit. Geoff Riddell, chief executive of Zurich Global Corporate, said Singapore was developing rapidly as a regional insurance market. Mr Riddell said Zurich was building on the success of the Singapore Branch of Zurich International Life Limited, an offshore company domiciled in the Isle of Man, which offers investment products through independent advisers and banking partners to high net worth clients in the region.
