Instead of steering clear of the credit and equity markets in 2008, Partner Re anticipates a number of attractive opportunities

The net income of Partner Re, the Bermuda based reinsurer, was reduced by 4.2% from $749.3mn in 2006 to $717.8mn in 2007. This fall in income, however, obscures the fact that Partner Re’s operational performance last year actually exceeded that of 2006, a record year for the company. For example, last year, Partner Re saw a significant improvement in the performance of its non-life business (which accounts for 85.0% of its total gross premium income).
