La Banque Postale authorised to sell non-life insurance

France’s post office bank, La Banque Postale, will be allowed to distribute non-life insurance classes such as household or
motor classes from 1 January 2009, the country’s finance minister Christine Lagarde has said. La Banque Postale has some 17,000
points of sale around France.
