The end of the world as we know it

It’s not everyday that someone sues someone else for threatening to literally destroy all life on Earth. But two men have reportedly launched a lawsuit against the European Centre for Nuclear Research, known as Cern. They are not, surprisingly, claiming damages (how do you put a price on the Earth being sucked into a black hole?) but are trying to get an injunction to stop Cern using its Large Hadron Collider, a massive £4bn particle accelerator.
