Police owed duty of care
The claimant was attacked with a claw hammer and seriously injured by his former partner. The claimant said that he had repeatedly
told Brighton police that his partner was threatening to kill him but they had done nothing to prevent it happening. The partner
was subsequently convicted of causing grievous bodily harm.
