Bus driver negligent for driving off

The claimant sustained a severe head injury after falling from a bus after the driver had closed the doors on him and driven away. The bus had stopped at a traffic light and the claimant ran after it. They boarded the bus, but the claimant remained at the front doors. The traffic lights changed and the driver closed the doors around him. The bus moved off and travelled a further 23 metres along the road before the claimant lost balance and either fell or jumped from the bus into the road.
