Hit and run victim wins compensation

The Fire Brigades Union (FBU) has secured over £280,000 damages for a member who had to be medically retired after he was knocked off his bike by a hit and run driver. His right knee was so badly injured that he had to be retired from the fire service on the grounds of ill health. He suffered a complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the right knee.
