Centrocon Arbitration Clause - Whether Court has power to extend time for making claim in writing

The issue before the Court of Appeal was whether the effect of the decision in The Oltenia [1982] 2 Lloyd’s Rep. 99 was to deprive the Court of any power under Section 27 of the Arbitration Act 1950 to extend time for making a claim in writing under the Centrocon Arbitration Clause. The Centrocon Arbitration Clause states:
