In February 1979 the plaintiffs performed repairs to the vessel Andino at the request of the owners’ general agent - Uiterwyk
Corporation. The value of the work done was $11,090. In April 1979 the plaintiffs learned that Uiterwyk was no longer the
general agent for the owners of the
Andino
. From April 1979 through the beginning of 1980 monthly bills continued to be sent solely to Uiterwyk for the work and services
performed rather than to the known new agents for the vessel, Smith & Johnson in New Orleans.
