Stinnes Interoil v. A. Halcoussis & Co.

In a judgment delivered on 23 June 1982, Bingham J. granted charterers leave to appeal against the arbitrator’s award in a “one-off” case arising out of a charterparty. In addition to granting leave to appeal on certain issues, the judge remitted other matters under section 1(5)(b) of the Arbitration Act 1979 for further findings and reasons. Bingham J. also reserved the costs of the hearing to depend on the outcome of the appeal.
