Charterers estopped from denying contractual relationship with shippers
The plaintiffs were the shippers and receivers of a cargo of cocoa butter which was alleged to be contaminated and short-delivered.
The first defendants were the time-charterers of the vessel involved, the
Henrik Sif.
The second defendants were the owners of the vessel. The cargo was delivered on 4 April 1977 from which date the 12 months
limitation period under the Hague Rules began to run against the plaintiffs.
