Contract - Whether charterparty concluded orally
The shipowners claimed to have concluded a charterparty with the charterers on the Asbatankvoy form. The charterers denied
that they had entered into any charterparty with the owners. The owners’ case was that the charterparty had been concluded
orally in the course of a telephone conversation between a Mr F of an intermediary company (V Ltd) acting on behalf of the
owners and a Mr P of an intermediary company (I Ltd) acting on behalf of the charterers.
