The House of Lords in On Demand Information plc v Michael Gerson (Finance) plc [2002] UKHL 13; [2002] 2 WLR 919 allowed an appeal from the Court of Appeal (on which see our August 2001 issue, pp.11–12) and held that the court has jurisdiction to grant relief from forfeiture of a finance lease and that jurisdiction to grant relief was still exercisable notwithstanding the fact that the goods which were the subject-matter of the finance lease had already been sold pursuant to a court order.
