MINIMUM LIABILITY PAYMENT SET TO RISE IN TAIWAN

Taiwan’s Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC) is set to increase the minimum liability insurance payment for passengers who are injured or killed when using the islands mass rapid transit (MRT) system from TWD1.4m ($43,500) to TWD1.5m, reports the Taipei Times . Department of Highways and Railways director-general Hsu Chun-yi said that the figure of TWD1.5m was merely a minimum requirement, not a recommendation.
