IRDA HEALTH INSURANCE COMMITTEE TO REPORT IN NOVEMBER

The committee on health insurance for senior citizens, established in May by the Insurance & Regulatory Development Authority (IRDA) is set to submit its recommendations on November 7. The committee is chaired by KS Shastry, and has looked at issues relating to health insurance for the elderly, a sector of society felt to be vulnerable and at high risk. IRDA received representations from lobbyists claiming that senior citizens had difficulty getting cover.
