Yunnan Province in South-West China... recorded premiums of 5.99bnyuan ($793m) for the first half, up 16.73% year on year, according to the local division of the China Insurance Regulatory Commission. Non-life business rose 43.4% to 2.73bn yuan, while life business grew by just 1% to 3.26bn yuan. Claims in non-life were 1.01bn yuan, while in life, payments amounted to 1.43bn yuan.
